“From Confusion to Confidence” – Healthcare Benefits Education
Project Overview
Designed and delivered a comprehensive healthcare benefits education program to improve employee understanding, confidence, and decision-making during open enrollment. The initiative transformed complex benefits information into an accessible, structured learning experience for employees at all levels of the organization.
Business Context
· Employees expressed confusion and anxiety around healthcare plan selection, resulting in decision paralysis and low confidence during open enrollment.
· Traditional benefits communication methods (plan documents, summaries, passive presentations) were not effectively supporting informed decision-making.
· Leadership required an approach that would increase employee confidence, reduce confusion, and strengthen trust in the benefits program.
My Role
HR Benefits Strategist & Instructional Designer
· Identified key pain points in employee benefits understanding and decision behavior.
· Designed a structured education framework focused on clarity, relevance, and practical decision-making.
· Developed and facilitated live training sessions for both in-person and remote employees.
· Served as the primary educator and subject matter expert throughout the enrollment process.

· Taught employees how to assess personal risk tolerance, healthcare usage patterns, and financial trade-offs.
· Simplified complex insurance concepts (deductibles, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximums) into plain-language explanations.
